Technical difficulties…

So thanks to a marathon Pan Am session (if you haven’t watched it you should. amazing.), I overloaded my air card and no longer have internet at my apartment.  Thankfully the awesome coffee shop down the street has free internet and amazing chai tea lattes - two birds with one stone!

I have a ton of outfits backed up since Wednesday so I’ll get right to it!!

A little bit lady-like for work with one of my favorite blouses.  That bow looks cute under so much; dresses, cardigans, sweaters, other blouses.  I can’t get enough.

Cardigan: Old Navy, Blouse: H&M, Skirt: Pavement, Tights: Hue, Pumps: Carlos Santana, Watch: Guess, Bracelets: American Eagle and Macy’s, Sunnies: Forever 21.

Sparkly buttons make things just a little more special.

So….I’ve been thinking of doing something different to my hair for a while.  The only thing that’s been putting a damper in my ideas is that my hair grows like a weed.  Not such a horrible problem to have, except that getting highlight touch-ups every 3-4 weeks can get rather expensive!  The solution?

Ombre hair!  The colorist highlighted the lower half of my hair, mimicking the natural highlights your hair gets after a summer in the sun.  The best part?  The roots are my natural color so I can let it grown out for as long as I want!  Woohooo.  The girls over at MCN Salon ALWAYS make me feel super transformed when I leave.

Super subtle but I’m really digging it.  It totally brightens my face and makes me look less pale (which is great since I am SOOOO pale right now.  I put self tanner on all the time…yeah I know you couldn’t tell.  It’s THAT bad).

Yesterday I met up with a friend for some carbs, shopping, and girl talk.  I kept things slouchy and comfy with an oversized sweater, straight legged jeans, and ballet flats.

I felt super classic.  Especially when I threw on my camel coat.

Some hardware on my flats gave my outfit a little bit of an edge.  Sparkles and studs - my favorite mix of girly and bad-ass.

And you can’t get more comfy than a big knit sweater.

Jeans and Sunnies: Forever 21, Sweater: Gap, Flats: Jessica Simpson via Marshall’s, Ring: Francesca’s.

My Saturday shopping took me to Avalon Exchange in Mt. Lebo.  Thank goodness the prices are so amazing because I always find something I want to take home with me.  Their selection is a fabulous mix of designers, classic brands, and the unique.

So, I have been DYING for a pair of colored denim and have almost bought colorful jeans about 100 times in the past few months.  The problem is that they are all over $100 (way over my poor graduate student shopping budget).  Then I spotted these.

They fit amazing, don’t need to be hemmed, and were $16.50.  SOLD!

Jeans: AG Stevie Straight Leg Jeans - thrifted, Booties: Daniblack, Tee: American Apparel, Necklace: Forever 21, Blazer: forgot to check the tag before I left my house! oops.

I wore these out to grab some beer and crocodile and cactus pirogues at the Church Brew Works.  All I can say is YUM.

Now on to today - I am blowing off the report I have to write for a few hours of beer and football with my brother.

This outfit is what I think of when I think of fall clothes.  Flannel, jeans, boots, and a casual jacket.

Jeans: Arden B, Flannel: Hanna G petite, Jacket: Cabi, Tee: Organic brand via T J Maxx, Sunnies: Forever 21, Boots: Steve Madden.

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS Sunday afternoon.

xoxo
